Turkey, it’s kind of a big deal this time of year! It’s also a great source of anxiety for those of us that are cooking for a large group of people! Here is a quick and easy recipe for the big day!
Ingredients
A Turkey
1/2 C Olive Oil
1/4 C Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 Onion (quartered)
5 Garlic Cloves (smashed)
1 Bay Leaf
1/2 tsp. Sage
1 tsp. Rosemary
1 tsp. Parsley
1 tsp. Thyme
Preheat the oven to 475 degrees. Then add all of the ingredients (except the bird and bay leaf) into a bowl and mix. Put your bird in a roasting pan (aluminum ones make clean up super simple), and pour the oil mixture over the turkey. Next, rub the oil into the bird. You want to make sure that you put the bay leaf, some smashed garlic, and quartered onion in the cavity to add some flavor . Cover your pan and cook the bird for 1 hour. After an hour uncover the turkey and use a spoon to scoop some of the liquid over the bird to help it stay moist.
After about 2 hours an 15 minutes your turkey should begin to look like this.
If it doesn’t then pop it back into the oven until it does. Once it’s nice and crispy put the turkey onto a serving platter and enjoy!
